I am a diploma graduate from Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP). I am major in Banking and Financial Services and I had gained some working experience in DBS Bank during my school six-months internship program. Thus, I had learnt more about the growth and development of small and medium enterprises in Singapore through numerous training and events that were held.

Apart from the core modules, as a student in NP, I had the opportunity to brush up my communication skills through Business Communications and even had the chance to plan an event on my own with a group of friends. The module was called: "Innovation & Enterprise in Action" and I chose Events Management out of the five different pathways.

From this module, I had developed a great interest in planning events and discovered more about my own strengths.

Firstly, I am able to see things broadly. I can visualize how the event is going to happen and plan along with the idea. This is crucial because if you cannot plan as a whole, certain parties from this event will be hurt. At the same time, I pay attention to small details too to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

Secondly, I have bubbly personality. I am positive, fun-loving and outgoing person, who can communicate well with people whom I only met for the first time. In addition, I am a person who will take initiative, thus I have the ability to work with minimum supervision. Hence, being an event management executive is fun and interesting at the same time.

However, I often will over-stress out myself. I will tend to think too much for a particular issue when it can be easily solved if I were not pressurizing myself. Thus, this caused me to take much longer time to do things or solve a small problem than others. And in order to complete my work on time due to the delay, I will over-work myself, burning midnight oil just to complete everything that I should.

Learning Experience

I had gained some working experience in DBS Bank during my school six-months internship program. Thus, I had learnt more about the growth and development of small and medium enterprises in Singapore through numerous training and events that were held.

I have the relevant experience to work as an event management executive.

I have the leadership quality to become one because I have been appointed as the group leader for most of the projects in school.

In addition, during secondary school, I was being assigned to be the vice chairperson of my CCA, Chinese Orchestra. Along with other leaders from other performing art groups, we had to plan a 3 days 2 nights camp for over 3 hundred students, starting from their meals to daily activities and to accommodation. At the same time, we were preparing them for the school's first "Performing Arts Concert" at Victoria Concert Hall that year. It was a concert solely prepared and organized by students without any help from the teachers-in-charge. We had to contact the person-in-charge at Victoria Concert Hall, do promotion and advertisements, set up the stage, and organize the sequence of events happening on that day. All of these preparation involved knowledge of being a strong leader so as to guide people around, logistics and broadcast-related work. Thus, my hard work had been paid off as I received Distinction Award for excellent services rendered to the school in Chinese Orchestra during Secondary School.

Another successful event that I planned was for I&E module. Even though our group's initial plan did not work out, but my group members and I were persevered. We continued on and our final plan of selling Chinese New Years snacks in NP Orchard Road was a successful event as we managed to make a profit of $100. This amount of money was then donated to help the Haiti earthquake at the moment.

Therefore, I belived that I am able to handle this job as I can do all that were required as the followings:
• Manage the portfolio of event management (planning and execution) for our Awards including nomination and judging of candidates, secretarial support and all other operational aspects of the assigned projects and events.
• Undertake a host of activities that includes on-ground event management, A&P, public relations, logistics and broadcast-related work.
• Manage project/s independently with little supervision.
• Source for suppliers and co-coordinate the execution of events.
